If cost is not a factor, this disk rips paint/rust off down to the metal quickly. I find that balancing pressure with result makes the disk last longer. I've not found any other product that is comparable to it for judgment so this is the top contender for the time being.

Those saying it wore out quickly used it incorrectly. I stripped the entire bottom of a 14' jon boat that had layers of paint. Still had enough disc to later strip a car tow dolly. Keep your disc as flat on the surface as possible and hold it on curves with disc rotating off the edges not into the edges and the fingers won't break off

Works fast at stripping paint and bondo and leaves a great finish. Didn't cause the metal to heat too much. I only got about 1/3 of a 48"x68" hood stripped with 80% of the disc gone. Finished the rest of the hood with a single non-woven strip disc, which is 1/6th the cost. The bristle disc left a better finish, but wasn't much faster than the non-woven one.

This thing is amazing. Strips rust and paint in weird spots like a champ without heating up metal.

These bristle disks work very well to strip paint off metal without digging into the metal itself. Just be careful that you run it so you are grinding so that the bristles are running off the edge of the work, not on. Off the edge the bristles will last a long time; going on you'll break them off. And when they break they go flying and if they hit you they hurt.I've used these disks on several projects and they are the way to go.
