We've had periodic issues with our Jabsco and have learned the value of having a back-up on hand - particularly if you entertain landlubbers and even when you give them instructions on what can and what should not be put down the head. This kit is half the price of the OEM service kit. In looking over the kit, the contents look of the same quality as the OEM kit. The installation is pretty straightforward...if you're unsure, you can find a multitude of instructions (print and video) on the internet. The only con is that you're working on the head....not the most delightful task. ;)

I used most of the parts in this kit to rebuild my Jabsco toilet in my boat. It had started leaking back into the bowl which required a quick solution. This kit has everything you need to overhaul the the toilet and it only took about an hour to go through everything. This is a much cheaper solution than buying a new pump handle or complete toilet and is quiet easy to do. Everything is working well so far. In general I have to rebuild this system about once every year, it gets used about 6 months out of a year and only on weekends. I believe sitting idle does more damage than use, but this is a great solution.

Even if you chose not to use all the parts in this kit (and I don't see why you wouldn't) it's good to have them all on hand in case you need them. Do I know how long they will last? No, but they should last at least as long as the service recommended by the OEM.

In the past a rebuild kit like this for Jabsco marine toilets was almost 1/2 the value of the toilet itself. This kit is completely affordable and also 1/2 what the "official" kits cost at West Marine or elsewhere. I looked over the quality of the joker valve and other seals etc and they are accurate and as good as anything that cost twice the amount. As a backup kit on the boat you really can't beat these and I expect 100% useful life from them. BTW, always a good idea to periodically pour vinegar in the toilet and flush through to the valve to dissolve calcification from the seawater, they'll last even longer.
