Fitment was good and it works well. The directions were sparse and unhelpful.

Fast and easy install. Not very much free-fall before it kicks in. I like it. Would be nice if it came with the necessary bits, had to go get the T50 bit.

This item works great and was easy to install. Plenty of videos on Youtube to walk you through it.

Didn't make it more than a few months before it rusted thru and failed. Easy enough to install which helps because it looks like I'm going to need to get a replacement. It saw very little use as I work from home the majority of the time and open my tailgate maybe once every other week when taking trash to the dump

This is just the most basic thing to add to the Maverick. If you only do 1 upgrade, do this.I'm not sure why Ford didn't just include this as standard on ANY of the trims. I installed it in under 10 minutes. It is a sturdy piece, super easy to install and does exactly what it's supposed to do- lower the tailgate slowly and make it easier to use close.You lose a tie down/bottle opener on the tailgate with this install, but there are after market options to add one back if you need it.You do need Tork bits 50 and 20 or 30 (can't remember which of those it was). Keep in mind this version can ONLY be installed on driver's side. If that is a problem for you, look at other options, many of those allow installation to either side.
