UPDATED after a very helpful and generous offer from the seller! The current description clearly states that this converts TWO six pin connectors to an eight pin connector. Not sure if I managed to miss this or if the description has been updated. In any event, based on the interaction with the seller I've upgraded my review rating to five stars to reflect the quick shipment and their contacting me and offering to make things right. I declined their kind offer, as I'd already sorted things out and it may well have been a problem on my end of the pipe anyway!The following is my previous review, which was either based on my failure to fully read the description or an incomplete description, I honestly don't know.This may or may not work depending on the video card in use. One of the 6 pin connectors has some of the needed wiring, the OTHER 6 pin connector has the rest. If your machine has only a single 6 pin power connector available (My Acer had a single 6 pin and a single 8/6+2 pin) you will not have the power lines or the ground lines needed to work using just one 6 pin connector of this adapter. I ended up cutting off one connector and wiring the grounds to the other connector so I ended up with a working 6 to 8 pin adapter for an Asus 3060Ti. Maybe not all boards are as particular about their second power connector, but mine needed ALL 8 lines on both connectors.

I am using this to power a gtx1080ti with a power supply that didnt come with the right 8pin connectors. Works great.

Solidly and well-built adapter cable. If you need one of these, odds are you deal with a lot of older workstations/gaming systems and can get them down to $5 each with the two pack.

Though I did order one of them, it did bring with a another one so honestly for the price, not bad !!Works with my rtx 1070 gigabyte nivida GPU. Will buy this again whenever I need more adapters like these !!
