The internet modem that Spectrum gave me runs really hot, especially in the summer. I often have to turn it off and blow it out with an air compressor just to cool it down if videos or games start buffering or lagging.I had an old desktop fan that I wasn't using, however, so I used this adapter to plug it into a nearby USB port and have it vent the warm air from the modem. It's been running nice and cool ever since.That said, the fan doesn't spin very fast, and it only spins at one speed. I wouldn't use this to cool off something big and hot like a gaming PC.
