It only took me a couple of minutes to change the base!. It looks like the foam may be thicker than the original, which is good.It's going to take a long time to go through all 4 of these. I'm very pleased with this purchase. The 4 pack is a great value vs. getting just one base.

This item does not fit the Makita BO4556 as advertised. If Amazon doesn’t censor the seller and remove the add then Amazon is guilty of failing their customers. Period!

I needed a new backing plate for my sander and found this set of four. I plan on using my sander for a long time, and the four pack made the replacements cost less than one at a time.

The metal backing plate on the back of the pad extends beyond the pad. While this may no be an issue while using on large flat projects, it could damage your material when working near corners. It appears to only overhand on (depending on mounting direction) the front or back. Best to install overhanging metal in back of sander to offer some protection. Close to being a good product. But not close enough. Uploading pictures is not working. I will amend the review with pictures later.
