Hopefully the garbage bin that we got is a one-off, because the motion sensor and auto open/close does not work. It’s frustrating because it took us a while to round up the right batteries for it, only to find that we couldn’t get it to work. I’m surprised with how many things are now USB-C rechargeable, that this is battery-operated.Aesthetically it’s very nice, I like the minimalist and clean look, it’s a nice sleek size that fits nicely into smaller spaces, like the ones between a toilet and the wall. I also like the idea of a closed bin for odour control, but if there’s no auto open/close and no pedal, it can really only be used as an open bin.I’m not sure if the price of ~$49 would ever be a good price point for a small touchless plastic garbage bin, but it’s certainly not a good price for one that doesn’t work.

The MEKOTRIN Intelligent Sensor-Operated Electric Trash Can has been great for keeping my bathroom tidy. The automatic lid opening feature, thanks to its high-sensitivity sensors, makes tossing trash incredibly easy and mess-free.The bin’s ABS waterproof material is a nice touch, ensuring it holds up well against accidental spills. Its slim design fits perfectly into tight spaces, which is ideal for my bathroom.However, one drawback is that the sensor can sometimes be a bit finicky, especially if it’s placed in a spot with high foot traffic. It occasionally opens when it shouldn't, which can be a bit annoying. Despite this, the convenience and clean look of the trash can outweigh the occasional sensor hiccup.
