Between constant work and maintenance on a wide variety of house projects and my car, I have need for various sizes of hose clamps. My problem has been having the right size for the specific need. Too often I have to take what I had and jury rig it. Sometimes that works and sometimes it fails. No more. The smaller sets that I get from the local store have been adequate but the variety is less and the quality is not as high as these.Pic one shows the competitor on the right side and one of these on the left. The heads on these are smaller but the housing for the worm gear and the overall operation of the unit is better. The competitor band is a bit wider as well but the through cuts on the band makes it less durable that these with non-perforation tracks. One of the ways I like to check on how good these are is to take one and crank it all the way down to it's smallest setting. Then I back it all the way back out so that the band is released completely - as if i had to wrap it around an item rather than slip it over the top. I want to see how well the worm gear will retake the band. These performed well on both occasions. It took the 1" down to the size you see in picture 2 and when backed all the way out, it was easy to refit the band back into the worm gear. For me, for the money, this is a great set to have.

These hose clamps have been extremely useful around my workshop, especially for plumbing fixes and some car maintenance. The best thing about them is probably how easily adjustable they are; they fit different hose sizes without any hassle. The stainless steel they're made from seems real durable too, even when things get tough.Saving me trips to the store, I've used them on everything from fuel lines to coolant pipes, and every single one held perfectly tight. The mechanism for tightening is smooth and felt secure. Having a variety of sizes in one pack has been super convenient for both automotive and household tasks. They've certainly earned a permanent spot in my toolbox as a go-to solution for securing hoses.

Some of these can handle hoses (and other clampable objects) larger than what is stated. Others in the set claim minimal sizes that are far too small to securely clamp onto. Often I'd say I give up on most other clamps before getting far enough to notice, and that's because these are good clamps if not a bit mislabeled in clampable sizes! It's hard to find good clamps, especially mail order, where one is ordering sight unseen. These do clamp securely with the ones I've tried. It's surprising and frustrating to go through so many other sets of clamps due to them stripping ridiculously easily. I pay attention when I find a good set. These do take the somewhat common (for hose clamps) 7mm socket (or a slotted screwdriver, but good luck with that). I've had screwdrivers slip enough times to invest in a couple 7mm nut drivers. A socket and ratchet work too, but the 7mm nut driver is my preferred tool by far. The carry case is good to have. Another thing I've learned from experience is not to leave plastic tool cases in the sun for long. Good value for this set.

Unlike a lot of the cheap hose clamps that you get in bulk packs like this, these actually work very well. The screws turn smoothly and the take-up of the band is consistent and strong. I recently bought an inexpensive diesel heater on Amazon and ALL the hose clamps it came with were absolute junk. I replaced them all with ones from this set and I could not be happier. This is a good assortment, though the sizes are very similar so there is a bit of overlap.

What I like the most about these is that the thread on the collar is made by indenting instead of punching a hole. I have seen sometimes that the other type will squeeze the hose rubber through the, degrading the hose and providing a source of potential failure. The machine screw looks good too. A hex head would add some flexibility, but not necessary.
