It's a hat strap. It's fairly basic, in that it doesn't included any kind of mounting flaps. i.e. you have to tie your own knots; I'm not sure how this will hold up.

My husband’s Tilley hat lost the chin string to our new poppy, so I needed to fix it. This string was the perfect replacement. I think the Tilley hat looks 100% better!
