To small and too dense to do anything, go for a pattern instead and larger

I attached them directly against the interior wall of my voice over booth at first, and they worked “just ok”. However… When I put 1/4” spacers between them and the wall to make a dead air gap, I was shocked how much more acoustically non-reflective the room became. For spacers, I used 1/4” sections of the cardboard tube from the roll of animal poopy bags. I had the luxury of using screws directly into my wall, you may have to find a different solution, lol.

These muffle sound well (try snapping your fingers in the room after hanging them versus in a different room, it's surprising). But they are also easy to hang with nails, strips, etc and are really light. I also pin some kids' artwork on them for decoration (we're using them in a laundry room so decoration is just a silly extra).

On the one hand, these work well for what they’re intended to do. By ear, they reduce room reverb as least as well as acoustic wedge foam. I’d be harder on the reviews complaining about soundproofing effectiveness (this is probably not the best tool for that), if the description didn’t include the word “soundproofing”. They’re pretty rigid and command strips stick well directly, both of which make them less work to hang than foam. They’re about three times heavier, with no noticeable odor. White acoustic foam is almost impossible to find, and the one source I’ve seen wasn’t fire retardant. This is at least white-ish, and fire rated.On the other hand, they’re not 16x12. They’re very precisely cut to 15 3/4” x 11 7/8”. This doesn’t really affect coverage, but does make placing them by measurement harder and the error can visibly add up. The ‘white’ color is a very light grey with a blue cast, I’m okay with them on a white ceiling but wouldn’t put them on a white wall. Picture attached showing both measurement and comparison with white (under ~2800K light). Still giving them four stars because they work well (I ordered more after trying them out), but I wish the description was more accurate especially the measurement.

Since I'm a musician, I soundproofed my room with those, and they are very dense and block the sound out very well. They are also great for sound treatment.
