To begin with, this is my first counter top ice maker. I fill an ice container that sits in my freezer, the ice this machine makes is kind of wet so all of the ice freezes together but it breaks apart easily, not sure if all counter top ice machines are like that.That being said, after about 200 lbs of ice that has been made over the last month, I can say that this machine is AWESOME!!!!!!!! Also when I was researching ice makers one of the complaints I kept seeing was about how loud some units are, this one is not loud at all, again my experience is limited to just this one ice maker. 😁

this ice maker works very well and makes usable ice quickly. i don’t have enough experience with it to know how durable it is, so the only thing to know before you buy is that even on the ‘large’ setting, the cubes are small and have a hole in them (they are also not clear, for those of you who care). for accessible, casual ice for four to five people, it’s a terrific machine.

First off, we love this ice maker and it fully supplies our ice needs (and we use a lot of ice). Things to know: it is not a freezer, so you need to empty its basket when full or the ice will simply melt back into the reservoir. Not being a freezer, the ice is slightly wet at first. We simply empty the basket into a ziplock bag, freeze it solid, and break it up before putting it into our ice bin. This way we don't have to break up any clumps when we need ice. It is a little noisy, but doesn't run constantly and isn't any worse than our range hood on low.Compared to fixing our refrigerator or driving to the store for ice, we are very satisfied. Cheers!

**updated customer support is making this right. Thank you Igloo!!!I loved this. I bought it in March of 2023. By May it had quit making delightful little ice cubes. Tried to get it to work again cleaned it nothing. My family was experiencing a crisis so I went the easy route and just paid for a second one because I loved the ice. Now my second one has died as well. Amazon won’t help me and I’ve submitted a customer service ticket to igloo but haven’t heard back. When this thing works it’s great. When it stops—- it isn’t. And just know it will stop working based on my experience.
