Pretty good design, holds the slide very securely. Do not allow the slide to roll when pushing your front sight or you will mar your slide like I did because the dovetail will wedge.Main issue is that the pusher block and threads are made of different metals, so the threads gall as soon as you apply force, and the pusher also cams into the carrier and dug into the aluminum. I recommend disassembling the unit and applying grease in the track and on the acme threads. Once I did this the unit performed much better.

I don’t know why anyone would leave anything negative on this unit. Maybe because they don’t know how to properly use it? It is very well constructed and functions exactly as it should. I have owned more expensive sight presses in the past that did not function as well. I highly recommend this unit.

Solid and quality built. Works great for rear sights on 3 different slides so far.

Have already installed 7 sets of sights on different types of handguns and no problems. Heavy duty and don’t need a vice. Some of the sights may need to use a breaker extension on the wheel but will work. Very satisfied with the results.

I is now built for the task. I was looking to replace sights on 3 hand guns and just wanted to do it right with the right tools not a hammer and punch my only regret was not having the time to try the tool before the return date was up. I am not going into all the details about the tool and the guns I was using the tool on I will end it with I am not a gun smith by trade but I am a tool maker for 40years and user stand this is a poor tool. Thx
