Use this on my Dodge Ram, the instructions were a little vague but figured them out. So far so good.

04 Ram 1500...Dorman 924-793..saved a lot of cash by using this!!! make sure the key you use is in decent shape. I used my original chipped ignition key that was very worn, the tumbler got stuck in the outer part and was rendered useless. I bought another one and used my door key as it wasn't nearly as worn and it worked like a charm and bonus, my worn chipped key works in it too!!

The radio in my sons truck would not turn off with the key turned off and would drain the battery if you didn't remove the face plate, also the key could be pulled out while driving it. I figured tumbler first, since you shouldn't be able to remove key, then worry about wiring for radio. Yes, we had new keys made to start. I watched the videos on YT 'bout this, seemed easy enuf. I also read all the reviews and was surprised to find a lot of people complaining about how it didn't work like they promised. A. Don't panic and B. I'm stubborn. I followed the directions and sure enuf it didn't work. I turned it once clockwise and then once counter clockwise. Didn't work. Repeated, nuthin. Just stubbornly kept doing that and on or about the 7 th try it worked. I had matched his key. I hadn't removed the old tumbler yet so tried spare key there, it worked, so set it to run position, removed it, took this unit and mirrored key position and installed it. I figured if it doesn't work I could reinstall old one and try somethin else. Good news is it worked just like they said it would. Better news is that not only can you not pull out the key in motion but the radio now shuts off with the key. Musta been a worn tumbler. Bottom line is, don't get frustrated and don't panic, just keep ( stubbornly) trying till you get it to work. It's installed and works perfectly just like they say. Longevity is yet to be determined but, 50 bucks is still better than 200+ for new tumbler and to rekey all doors to match. I gotta say in all honesty, get it, it works. It did for us.
