TRENZA, established in 1994, is a Chicana/Latina organization at the University of California at Berkeley. TRENZA was founded to fulfill a vital need for academic and social support within the Latina community at Cal. The founding mothers chose the name TRENZA as it best symbolized the interweaving of the three pillars that TRENZA is founded upon: sisterhood, community service, and pride in our Chicana/Latina heritage. Positive attitudes and warm smiles characterize the exemplary organization that is TRENZA. Weekly meetings, community service events, retreats, socials and parties have allowed TRENZUDAS to share in numerous precious memories throughout the past thirteen years!
